Job Description

Cutting-edge technology organization located near West Los Angeles is looking for a Controller.  While leading a diverse team, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the general accounting and finance functions.  This accounting and finance team will act as a shared service unit, supporting another division within the organization.  Main responsibilities for the Controller include streamlining accounting policies and procedures, helping lead the organization through an IPO, internal and external financial (SEC - 10Q and 10k) reporting, directing and conducting- general ledger management, accruals, account reconciliation, consolidated financial statement preparation, tax compliance & filings, as well as month / quarter / year-end close processes.  The Controller will also collaborate with other business unit leaders, develop cash flow management reports and ad hoc financial reporting documents, perform accounting pronouncement research, and investment accounting.
 
 

  • Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Must have at three years of experience in a decision-making capacity while leading an accounting department.
  • CPA and public accounting (Big 4) experience is required.
  • Must have extensive IPO and SEC (10Q and 10k) reporting experience.
  • Must have strong GAAP/technical accounting knowledge.
  • Proven track record of leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills are also required.
