Salary: $48k-$52k/Year
Position: Staff Accountant 

Staff Accountant Must Haves:

  • Experience with Audits
  • Experience with General Ledger
Description for Staff Accountant:
Staff Accountant is expected to take lead on finance activities assigned to them, with minimal supervision and identify and improve existing finance processes. 

Responsibilities: 
Perform tasks as assigned by Finance Department Head.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries with supporting documentation, to general ledger accounts accurately and timely
  • Perform bank account reconciliations
  • Post cash receipts
  • Create recurring journal entries and ensure that reversing entries occurs
  • Assist with payroll processing and preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax reports
  • Assist in the monthly closing and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Perform and maintain account reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Other accounting and financial duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years related experience in accounting required (Healthcare experience preferred)
  • Proficient in accounting software (eg. Sage Peachtree).
  • Knowledge and Experience in office administrative functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google apps (i.e., Google Calendar, Docs, Drive)
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal/MediCare billing preferred.
  • Experience with payroll processing and taxes preferred.
  • Experience with HIPAA and patient privacy/confidentiality preferred.
Other:
  • Possess a valid California Driver's license. Must be willing to use own vehicle and valid car insurance for work related travel.
  • Be willing to use own mobile phone to be accessible and willing to be available to receive calls for crisis and/or emergency situations with supervisors and relevant colleagues.
  • Work full time, five days a week, Monday thru Friday
  • Must be willing to work evenings as needed.
