Job Description

Orange County corporate office is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a temporary basis.  The Payroll Administrator is solely responsible for processing the weekly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees using Paycom. The position is responsible for ensuring that all payroll checks are processed timely and accurately on a weekly basis, including vacation, bonus and commission wages.  Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining the time management system within Paycom.

  1. Administer the weekly payroll process from start to finish, including manual checks
  2. Audit time punch reports and import time batch
  3. Create various payment batches, including vacation, bonuses and commissions
  4. Verify salary timesheets
  5. Create payroll files for up to eight groups
  6. Review payroll previews for exceptions
  7. Remit 401k deferrals and reconcile to payroll registers
  8. Respond to employee and taxing agency questions
  9. Review and reconcile 941s and state reporting on a quarterly basis
  10. Reconcile payroll related general ledger clearing accounts on a monthly basis
  11. Assist the VP of Finance and Human Resources with annual 401k, pension, financial and worker's comp audits
  12. Assist with processing unclaimed property
  13. Prepare and maintain payroll policy and procedures

Job Requirements

- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in processing payroll independently (minimum 500 employees)
- Working knowledge of biometric timeclocks
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Proficient knowledge of California Wage and Hour Law
- Experience working with 401k deductions and remittances
- Experience with garnishments and researching discrepancies
- Bi-Lingual Spanish/English
- Experience processing payroll in Paycom a plus
