Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a client who is in need of a Revenue Accountant (Full-Time)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report key revenue metrics and results
  • Develop and maintain customer revenue bridges and analytics
  • Track pre- and post-acquisition revenue and AR
  • Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations associated with revenue and related accounts
  • Develop and maintain AR & Sales Allowance reserving model, assist with the monthly review meeting
  • Interpret customer contracts for proper revenue recognition
  • Work with Billing, Accounts Receivable, FP&A, and Sales to proactively manage revenue recognition issues
  • Prepare revenue related financial schedules, ad hoc reports, and financial statement disclosures
  • Participate in the transition to the New Revenue Standard ASC 606
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining accounting control procedures
  • Support the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures and financial reporting requirements
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Other accounting duties as requested and/or determined
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Expert skill level in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office suite including Word, Visio and PowerPoint
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, including extensive financial reporting, general ledger analysis and reconciliations in a corporate accounting environment
  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferable in a software/SaaS environment
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience in audit for public companies
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Experience with data mining and analytical software a plus
  • Must possess an inquisitive mind, have the ability to work independently and proactively, and be a quick learner with good technical and business acumen
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact with top level management
  • Proven ability to build key working relationships across diverse internal and external organizations
  • Comfortable interacting with a variety of skill levels with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensure in active status preferred
Expert skill level in Microsoft Office Excel
Proficient in other Microsoft Office suite including Word, Visio and PowerPoint
5+ years of experience in accounting, including extensive financial reporting, general ledger analysis and reconciliations in a corporate accounting environment
3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferable in a software/SaaS environment
2+ years of public accounting experience in audit for public companies
Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to multitask
Experience with data mining and analytical software a plus
Working knowledge of Great Plains and Sales Force CRM a plus
Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) a plus
Merger and acquisition experience greatly preferred
Must possess an inquisitive mind, have the ability to work independently and proactively, and be a quick learner with good technical and business acumen
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines
