Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Processes bi-weekly casino and resort payroll by running time and attendance reports, verifying information against imported data provided by departments, receiving and processing self-service data-base notifications, ensuring deductions and/or exemptions are accurate, importing tips from tip reporting program, manually entering pooled tips, identifying and researching errors, making corrections as needed, and processing payroll cycles. - 75%
  2. Verifies accuracy of team member payroll information by reconciling and analyzing payroll accounts, processing month end journal entries, correcting and/or adjusting journal entries as needed, and activating payroll deductions following established procedures. - 10%
  3. Ensures accurate usage and payment of Paid Time Off by auditing accrued rollover balances, verifying accrued payouts, preparing back up documentation and generating payout checks. - 10% 
  4. Assists the Payroll Supervisor by completing requests for verification of time paid, running time and attendance audits as requested, and completing special projects as directed. -  5%

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2 years payroll experience 
Desirable:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • In-house payroll experience
  • Payroll certificate 
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
  • Proficiency in computerized accounting and payroll systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse team member population
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to use 10-key by sight or touch
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Record-keeping and organizational skills 
Desirable:
  • Working knowledge of Infinium payroll system
  • Working knowledge of Infor Self Service system
  • Working knowledge of Kronos time and attendance system
  • Multi-lingual
