Overview:
Our client, a well-established leader in manufacturing and construction materials, is seeking an Accountant to join their finance team in Lunenburg, MA. This position plays a key role in preparing accurate financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax laws, and supporting both operational and audit functions.
The role offers a hybrid work schedule (1-2 days remote per week) following initial training and performance review. The company values collaboration, continuous improvement, and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries and reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and tax reporting requirements.
- Maintain fixed asset and inventory accounting records.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with CAPEX management and equipment accounting.
- Liaise with regional operations and external auditors.
- Maintain adherence to all state and federal financial regulations.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to draw sound conclusions from data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
