Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior AP Clerk to join a dynamic team in Scottsdale, Arizona. Responsibilities

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-driven and proactive Senior Accounting Clerk - AP to join the Accounting Operations team. In this role, the selected candidate will play a key part in keeping payables running smoothly - from processing invoices and payments to supporting month-end close and process improvements. The role involves partnering closely with team members across departments, vendors, and leadership to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and a seamless workflow.

What You'll Do

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track approvals and ensure payments are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain invoice logs and prepare weekly check runs.
  • Process cancellations, reissues, and employee reimbursements.
  • Handle daily imports between systems and assist with data reconciliations.
  • Respond to vendor and internal inquiries quickly and professionally.
  • Support monthly statement reviews and month-end close activities.
  • Provide documentation for audits and compliance requests (SOX).
  • Create and analyze reports using tools like Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Collaborate on process improvements, documentation, and special projects.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 2-5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience.
  • Degree in Accounting or related field of study
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A knack for organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills.
  • Experience with Oracle preferred.
  • Background in the automotive or service contract industry a plus.

Required Work Hours

The position requires working standard business hours, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. (in-office)

Additional Details

Salary Range: $24 - $29 per hour
