Construction Bookkeeper (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: Sacramento, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

About the Role:
Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking a Construction Bookkeeper to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Job costing and project expense tracking

  • Bank and account reconciliations

  • Assist with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting

  • General ledger maintenance and month-end close support

  • Prepare and maintain financial reports for management

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocations

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (construction industry preferred)

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage 300 (Timberline), or similar ERP/accounting software

  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs)

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
