Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing construction team in Sacramento. This role is responsible for managing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized records of all AP transactions
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure proper coding and approvals
  • Support audits and compliance reviews as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred)
  • 4+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., sage 100, Viewpoint, Foundation, etc)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
