Ledgent Finance & Accounting is currently partnering with a Houston client in the construction industry to identify a Staff Accountant for their team. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established and growing company.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations
• Apply percentage of completion methodology to track revenue recognition and project performance
• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate job costing, billing, and forecasting
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and assist with the close process
• Support internal and external audits, as well as tax-related activities
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience specifically within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and financial reporting
• ERP Systems proficiency
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
