As the organization grows and expands its grant-funded initiatives, they are seeking a skilled Grants Budget Analyst to ensure responsible stewardship and oversight of all grant-related financial activity.

Position Summary:

The Grants Budget Analyst will be responsible for managing and monitoring the financial components of government, foundation, and private grants. This role plays a critical part in budgeting, compliance, reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support program success. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep understanding of nonprofit grant accounting, and experience working with restricted funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage grant budgets in collaboration with program and development teams

  • Monitor spending and ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions

  • Track restricted and unrestricted funding across multiple grants and programs

  • Prepare financial reports for funders, auditors, and internal stakeholders

  • Assist with proposal budgets and cost narratives for new grant applications

  • Reconcile grant activity with the general ledger and ensure timely close-out of grants

  • Coordinate with program staff to ensure expenses are allowable and appropriately allocated

  • Support the annual audit process and provide documentation as needed

  • Maintain documentation and financial records for all grants in accordance with funder requirements and internal policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in grants management, budgeting, or financial analysis-preferably in a nonprofit setting

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state grant regulations (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance)

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel (advanced functions preferred)

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work cross-functionally

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
