Seeking a mostly remote Senior Grant Accountant for a Los Angeles based non profit. The Senior Grant Accountant will be responsible for overseeing grant-related financial operations including compliance, reporting, and analysis. This role involves preparing cost reimbursement invoices, reconciling general ledgers, supporting audits, and maintaining accurate financial documentation across various grants and contracts. Ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with nonprofit experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly cost reimbursement invoices for multiple grants and contracts.
Ensure all expenses are accurate, compliant, and properly documented.
Reconcile grant-related general ledgers and resolve discrepancies with relevant teams.
Review subcontractor invoices and support audits as needed.
Maintain budget vs. actual reports and provide financial summaries for management.
Monitor grant receivables and collaborate with funders on collections.
Support with internal cost allocations and coding of grant payments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of grant accounting experience; 5-10 years if no degree.
Strong understanding of fund accounting, GAAP, and federal regulations (e.g., Title 2 CFR Part 200).
Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems such as Sage Intacct.
Experience in nonprofit or grant-funded environments preferred.
