Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing donations and managing various administrative tasks to support our organization's fundraising efforts. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with our benefactors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Donation Processing:
- Accurately enter donations into the designated software system and ensure timely deposits of checks.
- Maintain detailed records of all donations to support financial reporting and donor recognition efforts.
- Gift Batch Management:
- Generate electronic gift batches and submit them for payment processing.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of gift batches prior to submission.
- Mail Handling:
- Gather and sort incoming mail from the building, ensuring that donations and important correspondence are prioritized and addressed accordingly.
- Donor Acknowledgment:
- Generate and send timely thank you letters to benefactors, ensuring a warm and personalized response to all contributors.
- Maintain a schedule for acknowledgment and follow-up correspondence.
- Support Desk Inquiries:
- Respond to support desk inquiries related to donations and gift processing in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the gift processing team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in donation processing or non-profit operations is a plus.
- Proficient in using software programs for data entry and donation management.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours during peak donation periods.
- Must be able to handle physical tasks such as sorting mail and managing file organization.
