Job Description

A fast-growing manufacturing company in the Baltimore-Metro area seeks a highly qualified Controller

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales/business tax filings in 20 states and Canada
  • Support outside accountant with quarterly estimated tax payments & year-end tax preparation.
  • Review & Maintain a company-wide monthly reporting package, including: business cash flow forecasts, analyzing and reporting on A/R and A/P
  • Review & Maintain overheads, including employee hours for billable / non-billable time.
  • Review & Maintain Project accounting & project close-out reports.
  • Review, identify, and correct as necessary any discrepancies during the month-end close to ensure financial reports are accurate and complete.
  • Strategic planning for accounting software, banking, tax planning, other accounting tools
  • Creating & Implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls that will help support the company's rapid expansion.
  • Drive process improvement efforts to streamline financial operations, such as add-on modules to accounting software
  • Prepare subcontract financial reporting semi-annually for U.S. government contracts
  • Identify, apply-for, and submit applications for County, State, and Federal programs for tax credits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, job costing, and forecasting
  • CPA REQUIRED
  • · Advanced experience with Acumatica preferred; experience converting a company from QuickBooks to another accounting platform is highly desirable
  • Experience in a construction, contracting, or other job costing environment is useful
  • Experience negotiating service agreements
