Job Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join a fantastic mid-sized, well-established, family owned company in the SouthWest Denver metro area! This company offers a fantastic work culture/team-oriented environment, room for growth, competative compensation/full benefits as well as a 4/10's schedule (3 day weekends!) with schedule flexibility.
In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting various accounting processes, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Billing, Cash Control, account reconciliations, General Ledger (GL) activities, and month-end close procedures. Your efforts will contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements and other important projects under the guidance of our Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- A/R Account Management: Manage and maintain Accounts Receivable records.
- Cash Application: Ensure accurate and timely application of customer payments.
- Invoicing: Prepare invoices for each project, emphasizing detailed time and material cost billing.
- Merchant Processing Reconciliation: Reconcile merchant processing transactions.
- Cash Account Reconciliation: Perform cash account reconciliations.
- Purchase Order Management: Manage customer purchase order web portals to facilitate timely payment processing for construction projects.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Research and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including A/R, A/P, Cash, and Allowance for bad debt.
- Bank Account Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts regularly.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post relevant journal entries.
- Audit Support: Assist with year-end audits and other audit activities as required.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Develop and generate ad hoc reports as defined by business needs.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and reconciliation experience.
- Experience with Job Cost accounting is a plus.
- Relevant experience in the construction industry is helpful but not required.
