Outstanding opportunity for a Payroll Specialist for our client, an asset management company in the Downtown Houston area. This position is 100% in office so we are looking for Houston area candidates only.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and execute bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
* Administer wage garnishments, tax levies, and other court-ordered payments, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Partner with Human Resources to manage paid and unpaid leaves, salary adjustments, classification changes, and updates to employee deductions.
* Review and reconcile timesheets and payroll data for both field and office staff, implement pay and benefit rate adjustments, and address any discrepancies.
* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues and employee queries regarding pay.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and generate reports for management, finance, or external auditors.
* Stay updated on changes in payroll-related regulations and ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local payroll laws.
* Assist with administrative HR requests such as employment verifications, unemployment claims, etc.
* Assist in developing projected salary, benefits, and tax budgets, providing accurate figures for financial planning.
* Assist in month end close.
* Prepare OSHA work hours.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, HR, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 2 to 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably using ADP Workforce Now.
* Strong understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Salary range is $65-85K based upon experience.
