Job Description

Our client in the Atlanta area is seeking a Project Accountant for a Direct-Hire Position. This position will be Full On-Site for training, followed by a Hybrid Schedule.

Note: Applicants must have project accounting experience within a subcontractor environment to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate project setup and cost tracking for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project cost flow and ensure timely, accurate reporting on WIP and project progress.
  • Lead project reviews to address timelines, labor/material discrepancies, and scope changes.
  • Improve financial systems and reporting accuracy with Accounting and Operations teams.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and compliance with billing practices.
  • Drive under/overbilling procedures in line with contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Report and analyze KPIs, developing action plans to meet financial targets.
  • Enhance procurement processes, including PO usage and expense timing.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of project accounting experience within a subcontractor environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial management in a project-based environment.
  • Solid expertise in managing revenue recognition and project earnings.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, bidding software, and advanced Excel, with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
