Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, experience managing a team, and a deep understanding of financial controls and compliance. This is a key leadership role with opportunities for growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and other reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage and oversee accounting and payroll staff and systems on an ongoing basis.
  • Direct inventory and cost accounting functions to ensure accurate cost of sales and inventory balances.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of key accounts monthly and coordinate the preparation of year-end audit materials.
  • Manage accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing the filing of Form 1099 and other required returns.
  • Supervise the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely wage payments, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Oversee treasury functions to maintain accurate and timely control of cash, checks, and ACH payments.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for management on accounting-related inquiries, reports, and procedures.
  • Provide training, development, and effective utilization of accounting team members.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of new systems impacting Accounting/General Ledger.
  • Undertake special projects and analysis as requested by senior management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Monday-Friday schedule; flexibility required to meet business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in financial statement preparation, financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting controls.
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience, with an active or inactive CPA designation.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, such as Accounting Manager or Controller, including oversight of Accounts Payable.
  • Experience supervising payroll for a large employee base is required.
