A growing not-for-profit organization in Anne Arundel County, Maryland is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist
Essential Functions
* Review, make corrections, and reconcile processed annual budgets, revised budgets, and budget modifications; Resolve issues that may impact budget reporting and future payments to participant employees and vendors.
* Perform budget reconciliations from various systems - FMS Engine, Paycom, Bill.com, Sage Intacct and others as required.
* Support the Financial Reporting Team with one-time and special projects; Assist with the completion of ad-hoc financial reporting requests; Assist and complete special audit or reviews for mandatory reporting and compliance.
* Assist the Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Reporting Assistant Manager to review, audit, and prepare internal financial reports on a weekly basis to ensure quality control on processing and reporting for participants' SDS budgets.
Other Functions
* Support processing annual budgets, revised budgets, and budget modifications as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
* High School Diploma or GED required; BS in Business preferred with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
* Skills in facilitation of complicated, in-depth analyses on financial activities of individual budgets using various systems.
* Experience with DDA, budget monitoring, and budget reconciliation strongly preferred.
* Excellent technical and analytical skills with knowledge of accounting principles including an understanding of the concepts of expenditures, account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
* Ability to remain flexible, calm under pressure, and adaptive to change as priorities shift; being a model and resource for team members
* Strong, oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage positive communication in difficult situations and the ability to provide candid/constructive feedback
* Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and other business technology tools
