A general Contractor company in Rocklin is looking for a bookkeeper to help the company continue to grow. This position requires a candidate who is quick-thinking, thorough, and able to keep up with this fast paced company. If you are ready for a challenge, please read on.
Job Description: The full-charge bookkeeper's duties include:
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 50 employees;
- Maintain the Accounting records for the company;
- Coordinate and process invoices, payment applications (pay apps), and payment releases;
- Deposit checks on in-house check scanner;
- Report and pay monthly California Sales Tax on taxable purchases;
- Process weekly bank reconciliations;
- Record purchases made by credit card and pay credit card statements;
- Work independently without supervision;
- Prepare monthly job cost reports for Controller and financial reports for Executive leadership;
- Perform other miscellaneous bookkeeping tasks.
Skills and Experience: A well-qualified candidate should have the following skills and experience:
- Intermediate to Advanced QuickBooks knowledge;
- Must have certified payroll experience in construction;
- Familiarity with payroll service, including time clock and employee management modules;
- California Sales Tax knowledge, including determining taxable purchases, calculating tax due, and reporting for multiple taxing jurisdictions;
- Financial Accounting; Bookkeeping experience, including performing bank reconciliations, generating customer invoices, processing accounts payable and generating financial statements;
- Construction industry knowledge, including job costing, pay apps, retainage, WIP, and OCIP/CCIP.
Compensation: $28 - $32 DOE
