Job Description
We are partnering with a fast growing Insurance company in the Twin-Cities. Ideal profile would be a blend of public/private accounting, but would take someone STRAIGHT from public (4 years minimum!).
Primarily remote but MUST live locally as there is still on site meetings 1-2x/month. Other perks: generous PTO, summer hours, career pathing, virtual contests, stipends for personal & professional development, etc.
Compensation is $85,000-$110,000/annually + discretionary bonus.
MUST HAVE: 4-year degree and 4+ years of experience (including within public accounting).CPA Bonus!
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Evaluate and make improvements to internal controls
- Review and maintain deferred revenue accounts
- Responsible for maintaining fixed asset ledgers
- Work with internal/external teams to promote integrations and efficiency of accounting processes
- Set up and maintain deferred rent schedules
- Full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Maintain sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations
- Oversee accounts payable approval system
- Analyze accounts, locate discrepancies, prepare account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Set up and maintain capital lease schedules
- Coordinate sales tax reporting and 1099 preparation
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Prepare opening balance sheets for acquired entities
- Ability to integrate acquired entities accounting processing into our systems
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA with public accounting experience (preferred)
- 4+ years of technical accounting experience
- Advanced Excel User
- Strong communication skills
