Summary: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of assigned sales channels within the group of companies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for the oversight and ownership of all general ledger accounts including, but not limited to assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expense, and other income & expense
* Establish, document, and enforce GAAP accounting policies, and internal controls
* Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
* Maintaining current and accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Assist the Controller with all credit, treasury, tax, and audit functions for the platform
* Oversee and own the monthly general ledger close process, including reviewing journal entries, financial statement preparation and supporting schedules
* Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Create reports that help senior leadership understand company financials
* Manage and maintain timely compliance and returns filing for company sales tax obligations
* Work with external auditors to complete annual financial audit, including testing of internal controls and timely issuance of annual report
* Provide support to income tax accountants to file state and federal corporate taxes
* Performs other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Oversee all day-to-day operations for the assigned sales channels' accounting function
* Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
* Interview, hire, and facilitate training of accounting team
* Identify and address performance gaps through performance management
* Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
* Handles corrective actions and terminations in accordance with company policies
NECESSARY SKILLS, BACKGROUND & COMPENTENCIES:
* Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
* Proactive approach to process improvement by implementing checks and balances and identifying process steps that can be automated
* Strong organizational skills and high degree of accuracy
* Advanced in Microsoft Excel & proficient in PowerBI
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-developing company
* Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP procedures
* Experience with multi-state Sales and Use Tax (SALT) compliance and economic nexus laws preferred
* Experience in an inventory / distribution environment preferred
* Previous experience in a supervisory role, with direct reports preferred
* Inherent passion for technology and process improvement
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or comparable work experience required
* Minimum 4 years of work experience, and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
