Buyer

Our client, a large manufacturer and a trusted government contractor, is looking for a buyer to ensure the efficient management of materials and inventory to meet demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, enhance business performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage daily quality and delivery performance of the supply network through rigorous performance management.
- Assist with buying responsibilities, focusing on specific commodity groupings.
- Oversee incoming inspection results and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain a forecasting system for supplier partners.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues that may impact business operations.
- Perform audits on supplier partners to ensure their processes are qualified and in control.
- Assist in identifying competitive sources of supply for existing or new products.
- Support the Supply Chain Manager in maintaining proper inventory levels of regularly used materials.
- Manage the tooling database for each supplier partner.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews to aid in strategic supplier planning.
- Provide support for supplier contract negotiations.
- Develop vendor-managed inventory systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, enhance business performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure a safe working environment, adhere to PPE requirements, and contribute to a Safety First Culture by identifying and mitigating risky situations.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering is required
- 5-7 years of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, MRP, and statistical forecasting systems.
- Proven negotiating skills to achieve favorable prices and services.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, project management, and technical skills.
- Candidates must be US citizens or hold permanent residency status.
