The SF Bay Area Ledgent Team has been in the Bay Area for 25 years and we are seeking the right Collections associate to contribute immediately to this Very Established Oakland company. The primary role of the Collections Associate is to ensure that the Collection effort adheres to all guidelines. Provide guidance to team members / leaders in order to cure defaults as well as reduce the number of delinquent accounts. Responsible for establishing alternative payment arrangements to cure defaults, recognize potential problems, recommend charge-offs, as well as legal action when necessary. Manage the relationship between Accounting/Finance and Sales Leaders.Essential Functions:
Reviews own aging and collections queues daily to determine appropriate workflow as well as helping company detect potential problem loans early in the delinquency stage. Manages the collection function to assure that each individual complies with all guidelines set forth by policy. Interacts with all collection attorneys and agencies with regard to referred accounts, reviews monthly status reports to ensure performance and that collection efforts are continuing. Reviews monthly departmental reports i.e., AGING Reports. Conducts meetings with manager on an as needed basis. Attend monthly staff meetings to discuss previous month's collection efforts, upcoming changes in procedures as well as any other issues that may affect the collections' function. Meets with other department heads as needed to address any issues or concerns pertaining to credit / collections. Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, and two to ten years collections experience in a B2B environment. Formal credit training preferred, but not necessary.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret sales agreements and legal documents. Strong communication skills. Strong negotiation skills. Strong PC skills, including Word and Excel. Ability to work independently on projects.
