Hybrid Payroll Specialist
M-F 8-5 PM
Quincy , Ma
 Hybrid 1-2 days on site

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll, including but not limited to base pay, overtime, differentials, commissions, bonuses, and statutory and supplemental benefits
  • Record off cycle bonuses, fringe benefits, third party sick pay, and stock activity ensuring proper tax treatment, 401(k) calculations, and reporting on W-2's
  • Enter off-cycle, on-demand payments as needed  
  • Load payroll input via Enterprise Interface Builders (EIB's - Workday Templates) 
  • Enter tax adjustments as required 
  • Launch integrations and file post-payroll reports with third parties (401k, ESPP, Union Dues, etc.)
  • Support various internal and external audits including but not limited to 401k, workers compensation, ACA, and benefits audits
  • Maintain strong evidence of the execution of payroll controls established in partnership with the internal Payroll and Audit teams  
  • Promptly execute all pre and post processing audits to validate payroll accuracy
  • Prepare payroll related balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting as needed
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on Workday Payroll and Time Tracking  
  • Identify system changes required to comply with company policy or labor laws, work with internal and external HRIS teams to implement those changes, and perform rigorous testing prior to migrating changes into the Workday production environment
  • Provide customer service and problem resolution to colleagues 
  • Investigate, respond, and resolve colleague inquiries (e.g., payroll, benefits, employment tax etc.  
  • Inform key stakeholders regarding errors or corrections as appropriate
  • Ensure payroll operations comply with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations (minimum wage, FLSA, FMLA, final pay, etc.)
  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, and other organizational changes 
  • Support HR Timekeepers and HR Business Partners with payroll related job aids, supplemental learning, FAQ's, and check-ins to determine the needs of colleagues in all US locations
  • Responsible for tax registration in new states and localities (SIT/SUI/Local) 
  • Utilize ADP Smart Compliance for ancillary services such as employee wage payments, wage garnishments/support orders, unemployment compensation, tax filings and annual reconciliations/audits 
  • Escalate potential service issues to the Payroll Supervisor, Director of Payroll or Head of HR as necessary 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of US Payroll experience in a multi-state environment 
  • Knowledge of payroll administration, controls, governance, and accounting best practices
  • Knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulatory
