Our client in Charlestown, MA is seeking a fulltime permanent Controller for a new position. This client's mission is to end homelessness in Greater Boston by providing emergency, transitional and permanent housing, and support services, to low-income homeless and formerly homeless families and individuals.
* Bachelor's degree
* CPA or CMA, Masters Degree in Accounting/Business Administration preferred
* GASB, FASB
* Public accounting and/or for-profit experience preferred
* 5-7 year of relevant experience in managing a financial team of 2+ employees
* Advanced Excel- Vlooksup, Pivot Tables, Netsuite
* Month end close, ensure invoices process and pay, account coding, balance sheet reconciliation.
* Experience with state and federal contract and preparation of UFR a plus
* Systems development and implementation within and across departments
* COVID Vaccination
? Assess opportunities for enhancing and streamlining processes within Finance and the organization, prepare objectives and action plan, oversee the implementation and perform post assessment
? Responsible for managing staff while ensuring the smooth, timely and accurate accounting operations of the organization
? Produce standard monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and the Board, as well as tailored reports as needed; reviewing departmental results monthly with department heads
? Develop, maintain and ensure systems of controls are in place to safeguard the organization's assets
? Oversee the coordination and activities of the independent auditors and the preparation of the annual financial statements, UFR, Form 990 tax filings and other regulatory reporting
? Lead the annual budget process for the organization, developing and working closely with department heads to produce departmental and organizational budgets
? Plan, coordinate, and conduct finance & accounting training(s) with program managers, directors, and other agency staff as necessary.
? Ensure compliance with federal and state grant requirements; prepare UFR
? Review, maintain and manage debt schedules, ensuring compliance with any loan covenants
? Assess and advise, in consultation with the CFO, operations and financial systems that aid in the growth of the organization
? Manage cash flows; produce cash flow reports
? Provide various financial analysis and models as needed
