We are currently seeking a skilled Sales and Use Tax Accountant with strong audit defense experience to join the dynamic team.

**Job Summary:**

The Sales and Use Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of sales and use tax compliance, including audit defense, for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax accounting, with a strong background in handling tax audits, particularly within the manufacturing sector.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.

- Ensure compliance with all state and local sales and use tax regulations.

- Lead and manage sales and use tax audits, including preparing responses to audit inquiries and working closely with auditors.

- Conduct detailed reviews of sales and use tax transactions to identify potential tax issues and ensure accuracy.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations, especially those affecting the manufacturing industry.

- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on sales and use tax matters.

- Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance compliance.

- Collaborate with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to support business initiatives and provide tax-related insights.

- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.

- Assist in the preparation of tax-related financial reports and analyses.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and use tax accounting, with a strong emphasis on audit defense.

- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.

- In-depth knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations.

- Proven track record of successfully managing tax audits and mitigating tax risks.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
