Tax Accountant- Direct Hire Opportunity (Remote)
Salary: $58-65k plus bonus potential 
This position will be hybrid Remote/In-Office (4 Days Remote, 1 Day In-Office) 

Essential Functions:

  • Preparation of Forms 1120s, S-Corp, LLC, Schedule C, 1065, Multi-Year, Partnership Taxes
  • Tax Accountants help clients prepare and submit their annual income tax returns.
  • They help clients maximize their deductions and receive the largest possible returns.
  • They also ensure their clients meet their legal obligations and submit returns adhering to tax regulations.
  • They also offer tax planning services, which help clients prepare for their future.
  • Tax Accountants work with individual and business clients with a range of tax needs and annual incomes.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Software: CCH Tax and Tax Wise Software, Suite Dash CRM, and QuickBooks
  • Analyzing client financial records for the last financial year
  • Identifying potential tax deductions and savings clients have not considered
  • Requesting additional information from clients for processing tax returns
  • Advising clients about tax laws and how to meet requirements
  • Completing and submitting tax returns on behalf of clients
  • Liaising with the IRS on clients' behalf to ensure it processes client returns efficiently and accurately
  • Developing tax planning strategies to help clients secure their financial futures
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with accounting deliverables.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the management's attention.
  • Review all transactions and generate invoices and manage check runs, as necessary.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting team.
  • Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist management with conducting audits.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with other accounting projects in the office.
  • Mentor & coach junior accounting staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in tax, accounting, or finance.
  • CPA candidate is required, CPA preferred. 
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in tax/accounting/finance is required.
  • Experience with tax filing requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Experience with managing multiple tax clients is required.
  • Experience with data entry and Client Relationship Management Systems.
  • Experience with querying, interpreting, and presenting simple to complex tax reports.
  • In-depth understanding of current tax laws, including laws about pay-as-you-earn, self-employment, business and investment taxes
  • Math skills for calculating deductions and other tax calculations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters in accessible terms
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to help clients legally maximize their returns and reduce tax burdens
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills for working on several clients' tax returns at once
  • Computer and online literacy, including confidence using accounting software and typical tax return portals
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel.
