Job Purpose


As a member of the Finance team, you will ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in data entry of Payroll processing.


Essential Functions
 

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Set up and maintain employee profiles in various systems as needed
  • Furnish and upload data files to payroll system as needed
  • Process correct garnishment calculations, approved stipend requests, benefit deductions and separation payouts
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)
  • Process manual check when necessary
  • Research and respond to any payroll related questions as needed
  • Reconcile benefits billing and payroll transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Assist as needed with any accounts payable related activities, posting, filing, sorting checks
  • Assist as assigned with month end close procedures and audits
  • Create ad hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications
 
  • 5 years of prior experience processing payroll required
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Certified Payroll Professional certificate preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Familiarized or previous experience with Financial Edge is a plus
