Ledgent is partnering with one of their top clients in the Mid-County area of San Diego. They are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to become a part of a growing and talented Payroll team. Pay Scale: $25-$31 / hour DOE

Duties include (But not limited to):

• Manage the processing of semi-monthly, multi-state and multi-company payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes, consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
• Complete the processing of corporate new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations is accurate and timely
• Direct audits and/or audit payroll as required, including audits for off-the clock work, meal break violations, pay practices and payroll controls
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning payroll
• Communicate actively with Operations, HR, Finance and Accounting to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
• Reconcile payroll reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
• Ensure payroll and tax discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
• Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by being knowledgeable of existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements and advising facility management on needed actions

Requirements:

• 2 + years working with in-house payroll processing for 100+ employee organization
• SAGE payroll system or any other major Payroll system usage is ok
• Strong Excel experience and skills
• Degree in HR or Accounting preferred
• CPP preferred
• HRIS experience is a plus
