Job Description

  • Accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process for a high-volume, fast-paced company.
  • Verify transactions are recorded correctly and maintain the general ledger to current GAAP standards.
  • Develop and improve upon existing accounting systems and financial operations procedures; define and improve bookkeeping policies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, helping management to understand and interpret financial data.
  • Ensure legal requirements compliance for the business and assist with tax form preparation, including sales and use tax returns.
  • Process all accounts payable activities, including invoice management, timely payment processing, and wire transfers.
  • Process all accounts receivable activities, collections and reconciliation.
  • Perform bank and credit card statement reconciliations and conduct end-of-month closing cycle.
  • Maintain and reconcile Petty Cash
  • Assist with maintaining Fixed Assets
  • Process weekly payroll in a timely manner and make appropriate journal entries.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents and assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Asset Management
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software.
  • Oversee reconciliations of bank accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy. month and year end financials and projections.
  • Issue financial statements.
  • Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system.
  • Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested
  • Special projects as assigned

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (in person, on the phone and via email)
  • Experience with TSD, QuickBooks and ADP payroll software are highly preferred
  • 4+ years bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skill
  • Advanced QuickBooks skills are a must
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, BA/BS preferred
