Established Medical Devices Manufacturer in Central San Diego, CA (Mission Valley) is searching for a full-time Staff Accountant to assist with day-to-day operations.

Summary
The Staff Accountant performs complex accounting functions and reporting through the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities include but are not limited to analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. This individual reports the organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
Maintains responsibility for key Accounting functions (i.e. cash, investments, accounts receivable, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, internally developed software, notes receivable, notes payable, leases, deferred rent, accounts payable, customer advances, accrued expenses, income taxes, rebates, payroll, etc.)
Uses Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and controls that will prevent or reduce the risk of potential misstatements or misappropriations
Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Ensures timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts within the financial statements
Implements standard accounting, controls, analysis, and reporting procedures and prepare related correspondence to various state and federal entities
Maintains a monthly forecast of revenue and expenses
Assists in the budgeting process and ensures that a timely and accurate budget is produced and approved by the leadership
Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
Assists in the monthly reporting process including compiling financials, identification of variances and packaging of final reports for leadership


Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Two to four years of related accounting experience and/or training

Computer Skills
Excellent Excel skills
Great Plains is a plus
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
