Senior Accountant

Seeking a Senior Accountant with Non-Profit experience to play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our mission. This role requires a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles (grant/fund accounting), and compliance regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Oversee the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the organization's financial health.

- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards, including FASB guidelines and IRS regulations.

- Manage grant accounting, including tracking expenditures, preparing grant reports, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors and tax preparers.

- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management and the board of directors to support decision-making.

- Collaborate with program managers and development staff to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of program expenses and funding sources.

- Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit organization.

- Thorough understanding of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, grant accounting, and restricted funds.

- Experience with non-profit accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Nonprofit, Sage Intacct) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $85-$95k
