Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a prominent manufacturing partner located in the Minneapolis area needing to permanently add to their Accounting team! This role will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. This is a great long term opportunity!

Responsibilities:
* Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
* Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
* Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
* Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
* Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
* Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
* Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
* Provide input into department's goal setting process
* Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
* Assist with tax audits and tax returns
* Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
* Plan, assign and review staff's work
* Support month-end and year-end close process
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
* Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

Requirements:
* Bachelors or Associates degree - Business/Accounting (preferred)
* Public accounting experience required
* 5-7 years of experience related to accounts payable and general accounting
* Data entry proficiency; must be able to accurately enter information, identify problems, and recommend solutions
* Basic networking skills require an intermediate knowledge of using a CRM and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and all functional areas in the company
* Must be detail-oriented, organized and skilled at time-management
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adhere to established deadlines
* Proven ability to work as a team to achieve goals
* Maintain a high level of integrity, quality work standards and service excellence
