Senior Cost Accounting Manager: DIRECT HIRE

Salary: 120,000-165,000 (dependent on experience)

1. Strategic Cost Analysis:

   • Conduct comprehensive analysis of manufacturing, operational, and overhead costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
   • Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute strategies for optimizing costs while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

   • Lead the development and management of annual budgets for manufacturing and operational expenses.
   • Forecast future costs based on market trends, production forecasts, and business plans, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

   • Prepare and present regular cost reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key cost drivers, variances, and trends.
   • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support business initiatives, investment decisions, and cost optimization efforts.

4. Inventory Management and Control:

   • Oversee inventory valuation methods and ensure accurate recording and reporting of inventory-related costs.
   • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce obsolescence.

5. Leadership and Team Development:

   • Manage a team of 5 staff accountants
   • Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for growth and skill enhancement.

Other accounting duties:

• Input Payroll report and verify payroll withholding and disbursements.
• Perform monthly closing for all entities.
• Review and approve bank reconciliations prepared by the staff accountant.
• Prepare 401K employee contributions.
• Prepare commission payout reports for the sales department.

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of cost/inventory accounting experience + management
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Extensive experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, and managerial accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing or complex operational environment.
