Job Description

Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting and financial tasks. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in the accounting system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly.
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing and entering vendor invoices, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements and petty cash transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, as requested.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team to support overall department goals.
  • Handle ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Peachtree) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing is a plus.
