Role Summary: As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, focusing on financial reporting and analysis. This role requires a keen analytical mind for precise financial information management, crucial for the company's financial health. You will engage in monthly financial closures, develop financial strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your collaboration with various departments and external stakeholders will be vital in reinforcing our financial stability and growth. This full-time, on-site role in Atlanta offers an opportunity to significantly impact our dynamic environment.

Primary Responsibilities: Conduct detailed account analysis and reconciliations, including for bank statements, fixed assets, and costs. Handle preparation and management of journal entries. Oversee monthly financial statements and manage financial closings. Ensure GAAP compliance in all financial transactions. Provide documentation for internal and external audits. Direct bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable and receivable. Collaborate with internal teams on complex accounting issues, and contribute to budgeting and financial forecasting. Administer and reconcile monthly sales & use tax, oversee payment processing and bank reconciliations.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Minimum of 5 years in general accounting, and experience in in the logistics/ transportation industries is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. Proficient in General Ledger reconciliation and leading month-end and year-end closing processes. Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations. Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel - vlookups/ pivot tables.) Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Effective time management and organizational skills. Understanding of taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation. Ethical integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
