As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Controls Analyst to join our dynamic finance team.

Position: Senior Financial Controls Analyst

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Perform risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) across various business units and processes.
  • Design and execute testing plans to assess the adequacy and operating effectiveness of key controls, identifying control deficiencies and recommending remediation actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance control frameworks, streamline processes, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment with internal control objectives.
  • Prepare documentation and evidence for internal and external audits, liaising with auditors to address inquiries and findings.
  • Provide guidance and training to finance and operational teams on control-related matters and promote a culture of accountability and risk awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CIA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial controls, internal audit, or risk management, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, internal controls frameworks (e.g., COSO), and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems, as well as data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, Tableau) for control testing and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
