Job Description

Popular real estate firm near west Los Angeles is looking for a Controller.  While overseeing a sizable team, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the day to day accounting functions as it pertains to the organization's real estate assets / portfolio. The Controller will review and prepare consolidated financial statements, drive month / quarter / year-end closes, manage cash flow statements, and review CAM reconciliations. The Controller will also handle financial and P&L analysis, analyze sub-general ledger statements, approve balance sheets, review fixed asset processes and depreciation schedules as well as enhance accounting policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities for the Controller include conducting real estate accounting technical research, analysis of the fiscal budget, interpreting commercial leases, preparing executive reporting documents, collaborating with Property Managers, and playing a key role in system upgrades (Yardi) and financial reporting projects.
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related discipline is required.
  • At least seven years of commercial real estate accounting experience, or public accounting experience with commercial real estate clients, is needed.
  • At least three years of management experience is required.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Yardi is extremely preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel is required.
