Certified Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)

Job Description

JOB DUTIES:

  • Knowledge of Davis Bacon Prevailing Wage.
  • Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions and issuing checks.
  • Review timesheet and analyze all payroll reports .
  • Prepare quarterly reports and weekly tax deposits.
  • Perform payment for court ordered garnishment pay.
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Communicates payroll deductions to retirement administrators for simple plans and other pre-taxation savings plans.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Provide direct support to the Accounting Manager
  • Knowledge with federal, state, and local laws..

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School dimploma or GED required
  • Associates, Bacherls Degree or certification a plus
  • 2-5+ years experience with processing certfied payroll.
  • Previous experience with DIR and LCP Tracker and in-house payroll software
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
